~ Peppermint ~
Common uses: Primary uses are for asthma, allergies, constipation, chronic fatigue, migraines, muscle aches, and vomiting.
Application methods:
Topically- can be applied directly (with no dilution) or dilute 1:1 with carrier oil for children and those with sensitive skin onto areas of concern or reflex points.
Aromatically- Diffuse or inhale aroma directly
Internally- Place 1-2 drops under the tongue, take in a capsule, or use as flavoring in cooking.
Properties: analgesic, antibacterial, anti-inflammatory, antispasmodic, antiviral, and invigorating.
Body systems affected: Digestive system, muscles and bones, nervous and respiratory systems, and skin.
Aromatic influence: Peppermint is purifying and stimulating to the conscious mind and may aid in memory and mental performance. It is cooling and may help reduce fevers.
Safety: Repeated use can possibly result in contact sensitization. Use with caution if dealing with high blood pressure. Use with caution during pregnancy.
